How to Install Google Chrome

Important: Before you download, check if Chrome supports your operating system and you’ve met all other system requirements.

Windows
  1. On your computer, download the installation file.
  2. To install the file, follow the on-screen instructions.
    • If you get the message "Do you want to run this file?," select Run.
    • If you get the message "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?," select Yes.
  3. Open Chrome.

Tip: If you've used a different browser, like Firefox, you can import your settings into Chrome.

Install Chrome offline

If you have issues when you download Chrome on your Windows computer, use the alternate link to download Chrome on a different computer.

  1. On your computer, download a Chrome installer for a different computer.
  2. At the bottom of the page, under “Chrome Family,” select Other Platforms.
  3. Select the OS of the device you wish to install Chrome on.
  4. Download the file.
  5. Move the file to the computer where you want to install Chrome.
  6. To install, follow the on-screen instructions.

  1. On your computer, download the installation file.
  2. Open the file named "googlechrome.dmg."
    • On the window that opens, you can find Chrome.
  3. Drag Chrome to the Applications folder.
    • You may have to enter the admin password.
    • If you can’t enter the admin password, drag Chrome to a location where you have full permissions, such as your desktop.

To clean up after you install, in the Finder's sidebar, next to “Chrome,” select Eject Eject.
